SOME IDEAS

socalmeetups:

Ok kids, so I have received some emails with some suggestions of places for this to happen. I will now list them in no particular order and see what you all think.

  • Hollywood Billiards // on Hollywood, Blvd :: lots of TVs playing sports and lots of pool tables, large space for a large turn out, beer on tap, full bar, jukebox (i think..)
  • Big Wangs // on Cahuanga in Hollywood :: medium sized place, can be a little crowded. bar food, drinks, i think they may even have guitar hero now?
  • Musso & Franks // on Hollywood, Blvd :: I have not been here… it seems more like a restaurant than a bar or anything. That is not a bad thing, just pointing it out.
  • The Griffin // on Los Feliz Blv in Atwater Village :: cool atmosphere, good drinks, large space
  • The Well // on Argyle @ Sunset :: not the largest place, but they do serve food I think, and they have a good jukebox, no douchers, and I can walk there.
  • Brass Monkey // Wilshire in Koreatown :: karaokeeeee! and an LA favorite.

Ok, please let me know via reblog, leaving a comment, or email (indieandyy [at] gmail [dot] com) if you like any of these ideas or have more of them.

ALSO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE UNDER 21 AND PLANNING TO ATTEND SO THAT I CAN STOP SUGGESTING BARS AND START SUGGESTING ALL-AGES OPTIONS.

My vote is still for Hollywood Billiards - it’s cheap, fun, never too crowded, and of course easy to park at. While I like Big Wang’s, it’s always pretty crowded and I want to be able to actually hear people! Also, I think Musso & Frank’s is kind of expensive, FYI.
